On September 25, UIC students and allies—including SDS and SJP—gathered in the quad to demand an end to U.S. military support for Israeli strikes in Lebanon and Gaza. Speakers shared urgent reports about escalating U.S.-backed Israeli actions, including cyberattacks and bombings that harmed civilians and journalists. Protesters began with speeches and chants like “hands off Lebanon,” denouncing institutional complicity and calling for divestment from companies tied to Israel’s military campaigns. They also marched past military-affiliated buildings on campus, highlighting UIC’s financial ties to weapons manufacturers and ROTC funding. The event emphasized campus solidarity with international struggles and resistance to U.S. intervention in the region.
