Thousands of demonstrators gathered for an ABOLISH ICE protest following the m*rder of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse k*lled by ICE in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 24, 2026. Protesters called for the abolition of ICE, accountability for state and federal agencies, and an end to state violence - including raids, detentions, deportations, kidnappings, and family separations - and stood in solidarity with immigrant communities and the people of Minnesota. Mayor Brandon Johnson addressed the crowd as people chanted and rallied for dignity, safety, justice, and the upholding of constitutional rights for all people on U.S. soil regardless of status.Photographer: Baitul Javid
